Apparently this Mathew Rushing had no children as none were mentioned in the record, or else they may have been very young in 1679 when the probate was settled.

This Matthew Rushing's descendants line are mostly included in the book: "Matthew Rushing Descendants in South Mississippi 1810-1995" and the 1998 Addendum book of the same name by Helen Lyndola Rushing (Jones).

Notes for John Rushing:
[NI0813]
Mary \ \ Rushing's age can easily be read as 48 in the 1850 Census and that is why you often see 1792 as her birth date. but she would have been having children in her sixtys if that were true. Just look closely or use a blow up of the census image.
[NI0814]
Joseph C Rushing's placement as a child in this family for John Rushing is somewhat speculative and based on his age and proximity to this family in the 1860 Census. An alternate theory is presented in the book "Matthew Rushing Descendants in South Mississippi 1810-1995", he could alternately be a cousin of these children.

This unknown woman appears to have remarried JNO. Galloes after Matthew's death so how could she be Sarah Mumford? Could this Galloes be the same Galloes that served with Matthew in the jury at Chaplins in 1662 or related in some other way?
Brown's Creek is in the White's Store area of Anson County NC. There is Rushing Branch that starts in the Whites Store area and runs North right by Little Brown's Creek, all and Thompson's Creek are in the Upper Pee Dee River basin west of Morven where William Rushing Jr. owned land and where this Matthew Rushing was born. This Matthew Rushing is one of the two on the 1790 Anson County, North Carolina, Federal Census. Which Family does he belong in? If you have ideas please write us at Rushings. Click Here

Some descendants of Joseph C. (Calvin) Rushing place him as a son of Jacob Rushing b. Georgia in 1810 married Lucinda Cynthia Price and died 1860 in Mississippi. The 1998 Addendum to the book mentioned above has this second kinship preferred. Elizabeth's death certificate also lists his father as Jacob Rushing so he has been moved to this family structure, away from a child of John Rushing without direct evidence of either placement.
