Notes

[NI1741] My father Benito Preciliano (Pres) Lovato ... is the oldest of three boys by Jose Preciliano Lovato (1900-1982) and Cordilia Alire. I have Maria Antonia Arculeta's mother's name as Maria De la Luz and her father as unknown.
My name is Nicole Corrine Lovato ... I'm the second of nine children by my father. But consider myself the oldest of eight. I haven't found any additional info on the Lovato side, but I am very new at this
computer stuff. It's been fun sharing.

[NI1776] Redding Key HODGES M.D. (son of Jordan HODGES and Mary
MILLER) on 19 Dec 1861. Redding Key HODGES M.D.1,2 was born on 3 Jul 1839
in Stewart County, Georgia. He died on 31 Oct 1903 in Cumberland,
Mississippi.

"Redding Key Hodges, fifth son and eighth child of Jordan Hodges and
Mary Miller, was born July 3, 1839 in Stewart County, Georgia. After the
death of his parents and when about fourteen years old he began to have
difficulty in getting along with his guardian, his brother John. He finally
ran away from home and went to his great uncle, Bright Groom, in Tennessee.
He entered medicine at an early age in Old Tennessee Medical College,
the school that became today's Vanderbilt University. From this school he
received his M. D. degree.
On December 19, 1861 he married Nancy Jane Rushing, daughter of Milton
Richmond Rushing and wife Tabitha Ogilvie. He entered the practise of
Medicine in middle Tennessee where he lived until 1873.
In 1873 he and his in laws moved to Mississippi. He practised medicine in
Clay County and later in Webster County where he also owned a drug store.
Two children were born in this county. Between 1877 And 1882 he returned to
Tennessee where his last two children were born. His wife Nancy Jane died
at Maxwell, Tennessee of "bloody flux" on October 21, 1887.
The maternal grandmother and eldest sister, who was already married,
took care of the younger children until Redding Key married his second
wife, a Mrs. Gates. She persuaded him to move to Kansas City, Missouri.
Both the marriage and move proved to be serious mistakes. The marriage
ended in divorce and the family moved back to Tennessee for a short time
and them back to Mississippi.
In Clay County, Mississippi Dr. Hodges became charmed with his
daughters' music teacher. He married for the third time Miss Mittie Dean of
West Point, Mississippi. He again practised medicine in Clay County until
he suffered a disability that prevented further practise, a cerebral
vascular accident. That confined him to a wheel chair for the rest of his
life. His son, Key Rushing Hodges took the couple into his home at
Cumberland, Mississippi where Dr. Hodges died on October 31, 1903."
