The 1850 McNairy County, Tennessee Census indicates they moved back to Tennessee between 1839 and 1840 by the children's birth places. Richard reports he was born in North Carolina moved to Tennessee then to Alabama and back to Tennessee, Census data supports this.

Who are these other Rushings living next to Preston in this 1860 census? William seems to have come to Saline County, AR, about ten years before Robert and Preston because his son Mark is 10 yrs. old. Sarah is a possible new wife of William M Rushing(records also show a marriage between William M Rushing and Minerva Gentry, 1 Mar. 1849 in Saline County, AR), both he and Sarah show married within the year. William also has his estate settled in 1860 and Mark and William M Rushing, Jr. have guardians appointed in 1861. William M Rushing. Jr's Estate is settled in 1884, Saline County, Arkansas.
The LDS Web site familysearch.org has the 1880 Census different than I read it two years ago and I cant find the copy I made of the original. I am including their version here and it has a Joseph that I do not have, someone is missing and Tammie is Fannie??
