The information that I have on my Grandfather is his name is Joseph A.
Rushing, born Jan 09, 1850 in NC, married 01/31/78 in Waxahachie, Ellis
County, TX. to Texas Ann Hendricks. He Died March 14, 1914 is buried in
Longs Community, south of Portales, NM. This is a list of his children ( all

In our research for Joseph, we would in the 1860 Censes for NC a J.A.
Rushing that was 10 years old, however there was no names listed with his
and we could not read the family name above his ( it was different) we need
to look at this again as a relative or guardian may have been taking care of
him. Then in the censes in
GA in 1870 there is a listing for J.A. Rushin. ( show as 20 yrs. old) We
know that he went to GA to join at a very young age. .
In our research, we had found a J.A. Rushing married to a Hattie for a
marriage license record in Kaufman Co., Tx. .( not sure of the year) But I
can find out if you are interested. We ran across lots of Rushing names in Ellis, Kaufman and
Navarro Counties before the 1900 's .
