[NI6358] Census 1880: Lanes Creek, Union, North Carolina

George W. RUSHING Self M Male W 32 NC Farmer NC NC
Mary A. RUSHING Wife M Female W 28 NC Keeping House NC NC

[NI6360] Census: Age 55, on 7/30/1850 in the household of Joseph J. Rushing, no Children listed. They live next door to Jesse J. Rushing. Ira Baxter Rushing places Joseph J. as a son of Jesse J. Rushing but does not place Stacy as the wife of Joseph J Rushing.

Who is Stacy and where is Jane Lilly daughter of David Lilly?

[NI6369] I have Bryant in my notes, but unfortunately no birth or death dates. The only thing I have for him is that he had a son possibly named Jimmy and that Bryant was kicked by a mule and died from the accident. He was possibly a Baptist minister. I have a note that 3 of Laban's sons were Baptist ministers, but it
doesn't say which ones. I think one of them was my great grandfather Joe/Joseph. His son (my grandfather Archibald Douglas Rushing) was a Southern Baptist Deacon. ... was obtained from grandfather Archibald Douglas Rushing (son of Joseph/Joe) when he was 91 years old and just a short time before his death.

...from letters to Dan Rushing from William "Bill" Atherton of FT. Worth, TX 4/20/2000.

[NI6374] Children of Narcissa RUSHING and James STEPHENSON are:

Additional Comments:
Mary Renfroe, daughter of Enoch, married Clement Hancock, Sr. They moved to
Wilkinson County, GA in 1810. Their sons Clement, Jr., John and William Hancock
were living in Crawford Co., GA by the 1830 census. They and many of their
descendants are buried in Crawford Co. and many more still live there.

[NI6387] Sarah Renfroe was a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church (originally at Renfroe's, then at Williamson Swamp Creek) in Washington County, Georgia.

[NI6451] Assignment of Jesse as son of Mark is arbitaray based on residence in the fifth district of Stewart Co., TN, in 1850. He left a will dates january 1873 in Houston Co., TN. The will mentions wife Catherine; daughter Amanda Triplett, wife of Nimrod Triplett; and daughter Martha Triplett, wife of Chase Triplett.

[NI6457] A Wade Rushing, age 30, is listed in the household of Jesse Rushing in the 1850 census. This Wade Rushing may actually be the individual listed in the 1880 census of Houston County as Wade Busby, age 60, farmer, whose household included niece Mary Rushing, age 6, and nephew Eddie Rushing, age 5.

[NI6458] Assignment of Evin/Evan as son of Mark is arbitrary based on residence in the fifth district of Stewart Co., TN, in 1850.

[NI6460] Some researchers claim this James K. Polk Rushing is the son of Evin Rushing & Nancy Jane Busby as opposed to (William Rushing b: about 1814; d: Jul. 14, 1857 who married Mary [--?--] b: oct. 1820.). The difference in family placement seems to come from which Crutcher is the wife. Documentation supports three contemporary James K Polk Rushings
