That the Northhamton Co., Virginia William Rushen belongs here as a son... The frequency of spelling Rushen in the records of both father and son added some slight weight to this placement.
This is not the real estate Mathew with wife Elizabeth and business partner Edward Goodson with the wife Eliza Rushin. Eliza Rushin (Goodson) is placed arbitrarily with the other Mathew as a sibling because of the close ties to him and Goodson and no other reason.

I'm hoping you are willing to help me. I ran across a Rueben Rushing which you had submitted to the Gendex. I am a descendent of Hiram Moss Rushing b. Feb. 14, 1841 in Arkansas territory and died May 28, 1934 in Archer City, Texas. He was the son of a Rueben or Rue Rushing and his wife Sarah. I don't know her maiden name. My Hiram married a woman named Ruthie (last name unknown). I have no birthdates or other information on Rueben or his wife Sarah. I noticed your Rueben had a son named Hiram but there was no birthdate or other information listed for him. Would you mind checking your
files for me to see if these families match? I would very much appreciate
any help you could give me. Thank you.

I have only been able to go back as far as my ggrandfather Hiram Moss Rushing and his wife Sina Larry Rushing
search of gold in 1883. In 1887, he married Frances DENNIS in Maryborough,
Victoria. Frances and Frederick were both from the East End of London - he
from Shoreditch and she from Hoxton.
Frederick was one of 7 children born to William David RUSHEN, a watchmaker,
and Esther SPINKS, who married in St Pancras Church, St Pancras, London, in
1851.
William David RUSHEN was born in 1829 in St Botolph Bishopsgate, the son of
William and Mary RUSHEN. Beyond this, our details are a little hazy.
By the time Frederick emigrated to Australia in 1883, only his sister, Mary
Jane (who married Henry Weatherstone) and brother Edward George (who married
Frances M Nevill) survived.

Thomas William Rushing died at his home in Knox Hill community January 13th 1937. Mr Rushing was born Aug 13 1851, having reached age of 86 at time of his death. He is survived by 5 sons M P, R W, T P of Ponce de Leon, Joe of Niceville and K K of Texas; one daughter, Mrs M D Floyd of Ponce de Leon. Internment was Euchee Valley Cemetery.

I have run across some confusing information on the parentage of James Perry Rushing 1860-1912. All evidence points to his parents as Alvin T Rushing and Jemima Horn of Kennedy Lamar/Fayette County Alabama. However I recently acquired his death certificate and my Grandmother who provided the information lists his parents as John Rushing and Mary Trull of Kennedy Alabama. I have been unable to locate John and Mary Rushing in Lamar or Fayette County in Alabama in 1850 or 1860 census. James Perry appears in 1970 census as Alvin and Jemima's son. Does anyone have any information on a John
Rushing or Mary Trull in Northwest Alabama in the 1850's/1860's?

JOHN CARTIER, M.D. took his bride to Saw Dust, McNairy County, Tennessee by 1839. McNairy County at that time was covered in native cane standing twenty feet tall that stretched from horizon to horizon. They lived in the area of Purdy and Gravelhill, until the Civil War began. John reportedly moved to Missouri during the war in protest and was never heard from again. He had sons named Henry, James, and John Jr. John Jr. married Elizabeth Jane Rushing who was the daughter of Richard and Anna Rushing.
RICHARD RUSHING was born in North Carolina in 1799. He was in Alabama by 1828. He moved to Tennessee before 1839. Evidence suggests North Carolina produced several RUSHING families who moved to Alabama and to Tennessee between 1820 and 1860.
John Carter and Elizabeth Rushing had eleven children in McNairy County. Richard Rushing also had eleven children. Many of those children were born and married in McNairy County. Birth and marriage records were lost in a fire that consumed the courthouse in 1860. ©
The Carters wer amoung the first Rushing descendants to reach New Mexico other Richard Rushing descendants would migrate to New Mexico by Arkansas, Texas and then New Mexico as did other McNairy County, Tennessee Rushings including the descendants of Larkin Rushing.
