Oh how wonderful to see my family far away, yet seem so close by such things as this web site.
Oh how I hope we can get to know each other in some fashion. My Mother is Martha Constance
Smith, and my Father is David Vernon Rushing. I have many things I can tell you about my family
and we can continue to have the Rushing family website flourish.
My aunt is Helen Jones. And she wrote a book on Mathew Rushing Descendents. My Grandfather's
name is Drew K Rushing, and my Grandmother is Suzie Rushing (Counsell).

Audrey Garrett Rushing, age 88 of Tallahassee, passed away Jan. 1. [2001] Ms. Rushing was born Nov. 15, 1912 in Walton County, the daughter of the late Charles and Lora Permenter Garrett. She remained a lifelong resident of Walton County until moving to Tallahassee three years ago. She was a Presbyterian by faith and a member of the First Presbyterian Church of DeFuniak Springs, where she was a member of the Agape Circle for over 50 years. She enjoyed all aspects of church work and also served as superintendent of the Gillis Chapel Presbyterian Mission Church for over 20 years and was a member of the Northside FCE Homemakers Club in DeFuniak Springs for more than 50 years.
She is preceded in death by her husband, William Wesley Rushing.
Survivors include her son, Charles W. Rushing and wife Sandy of Tallahassee; daughter Charlotte A. Gaspers and husband Jim of Scottsbluff, Neb.; grandchildren, Tanja Clendinen and husband Stewart, Billy Rushing, Mike Gaspers and Michelle Salsbery and husband Alan; and great-grandchildren Rebecca Clendinen and Wesley Clendinen.
Funeral services were held Jan. 5, at Clary-Godwin Funeral Home with the Rev. Durl Odom officiating. Burial followed in Euchee Valley Presbyterian Church Cemetery.
